On thursday September 3rd the 2009 Smart Moves challenge rules where released. We held a special parent/team member pizza party to go over the mission rules and review the research project topic parameters.

At our up coming Tuesday meeting we will start sorting through the missions and figure out what we want to tackle first. We also plan on working on brainstorming some research topics...we are hoping to get some good traction on our research project this year so we don't get rushed as we have in years past.

Sumo BotsWhile the team waits for the official Smart Moves season rules to be posted on September 3rd there is much guessing as to what the field items are going to be used for and how the rules will play out. One thing is for sure, the robots are going to be expected to be much smarter than years before. This means better use of sensors and code.

To prepare for the upcoming challenge the team is spending the next few weeks building Sumo-bots. With this event the team will spend time building various chassis designs as well as use a number of different sensors to help their bots strategy.

Look in the Team Super Awesome Gallery for some pictures of the events.
